Tipis, Campfires, and Boyfriend Sweaters

This past weekend Aaron and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary in a cozy tipi just outside of San Antonio. It was the perfect location for a much needed getaway. Our tipi comfortably housed 3 queen-sized beds, a TV, fire pit, and an enchanting little kitchen. We decided to stay in for the first night, prepare a homemade steak dinner and enjoy each others company. The next morning we made breakfast together surrounded by the beautiful Texas scenery.

Everything was absolutely perfect.

For the rest of the trip, Aaron and I found our way around town, went on a hike, and did a bit of Christmas shopping. It was the perfect way for us to remember why we fell in love two years ago.

To my dearest Aaron, thank you for showing me how to love. You’re my world.

The Boyfriend Look

So, in light of my anniversary, I decided to share my take on the “my boyfriend’s clothes” look! It’s that pesky fashion trend that Gap and J. Crew release every year that is meant to look effortless and cute but always ends up making you look over-sized and homeless. But no fear, i’m here to show you how to go from frumpy to fabulous!

1. Don’t Go Too Many Sizes Up

Aaron is so much taller than I am so anything that I wear of his automatically makes me look like i’m drowning in clothes. So if you’re really wanting to achieve this look successfully, I recommend selecting a piece that isn’t significantly larger than the size you wear. This boyfriend sweater is cute, nicely sized, and comfortable.

2. Layer On Plain Pieces

I started with a plain white tee and layered the boyfriend sweater on top. My ripped, skinny jeans upheld the laid-back feel of this outfit while still giving my overall shape and curves.

3. Pair Feminine with Masculine

My absolute favorite way to wear masculine clothing is with an overly feminine statement piece. Balancing the right amount of both will allow you to look put-together and effortless all at once.
