Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe 2015 flew by that quickly but 2016 already looks like it’s going to be a great one. With finals piling up, it was hard to find time to blog last month but I can’t wait to hit the ground running!

I’m starting out the new year with a layered look that’s comfortable, fun, and (more importantly) warm! I’ve learned time after time that layering is a much better alternative than wearing one large jacket, both in functionality and appearance.

For a casual shopping day around town, I layered an army green, Gap jacket over a lace-detailed cream knit sweater. I’ve become recently obsessed with sweaters that have the appearance of two different tops in one! It adds a dash of dimension and I can’t get enough of it. I finished it off with my classic camel Burberry scarf for a little extra warmth.

I’ve mentioned time and time again my love for Madewell Jeans, but these Toothpick cut J. Crew Jeans are also one of my all time faves. They maintain their stain, shape, and texture overtime and if you catch them when they’re on sale, EVEN BETTER!

*Tip: If you’re a student, J. Crew will give you 10% off, ON TOP of whatever sale they’re holding. It’s saved me so much money over time!

It was raining in Harlingen when I took these pictures so I brought my fun Kate Spade duck umbrella! The cute little wooden duck handle is a fun way to disguise my umbrella when it’s peaking out of my purse!

Also! If you’re in Harlingen and looking for a Juice/Smoothie place, I found a cute new shop called Juiceology on Jackson street! They make all their smoothies and shakes out of fresh ingredients and even run a cycling studio in the back of their building! I’m so happy to see sweet new businesses opening up in my hometown. Definitely worth a try if you’re back home.

Until next time, have an awesome 2016!

I bought a similar pair of booties from Arturo Chang’s fall/winter line, and I can never think of what else to wear them with besides a cute mini dress. I love this look though! Way to go, girl! Thank you. 😘

Aw! I love Arturo Chiang’s shoe line! Such good quality leather and they offer a wide calf option for girls (me) that don’t have super thin legs! So glad I could help, you keep rocking that white button up. 😘
