We’re in the midst of the holiday season and it feels like the days are flying by! Next week is Thanksgiving and before ya know it, we’ll all be rushing to check items off our Christmas lists. Since we’re hosting Christmas this year, Aaron and I jumped the gun a little on putting up the Christmas decorations! So the tree is up, the stockings are hung, and Christmas jingles are playing on repeat.
This last weekend my sister and I were chatting about a Christmas party she needs an outfit for and after swapping dozens of Pinterest-inspired Holiday looks, I decided to throw together my take on a Holiday look with what I had laying around in my closet!
Depending on the party, it can always be tough trying to decide if your outfit is too loud, too colorful, or too risqué, especially if you’re a +1. So when in doubt, picking a staple color with contrasting textures is always a way to make a subtle and safe statement. I decided to pair a leather mini skirt that I’ve had for years with this draped sleeve blouse I snagged from Norstrom Rack a few weeks ago. This Ro & De blouse has been on constant repeat and is currently ON SALE for $18! Christmas party or not, this is definitely a top you need in your closet! The spaghetti strap details and loose fit is really such a perfect top with jeans or skirt.
I loved throwing in subtle details of sparkle like my Kendra Scott Naomi Two Finger Druzy ring – it adds a perfect amount of edge and sparkle to any outfit. Also, can we just talk about how fun and edgy these Sonix sunglasses are. The retro style and polished brow bar make is super flattering to most face shapes and are really affordable!
There are TONS of gorgeous dresses, rompers, and blouses out there for Holiday parties, but if you’re crunched on time or don’t want to splurge, I hope this post helped you conjure up some ideas on how create a new look with old pieces!
I hope you have a safe and wonderful holidays and thanks for stopping by!
