With temperatures in the high 90’s everyday, it’s safe to say that it’s going to be a long, hot summer. While I usually don’t love our Texas heat, I’ve learned that a cute cover up can make any day a little brighter. To combat the heat, i’m almost always by the pool or the beach so a light and airy cover up is perfect to layer over a bikini.
This cotton cover up is by Cynthia Rowley and has been my go-to cover up throughout the years. The gold embroidering and sequin accents make the cover up feel more like a dress and is perfect for catching a bite after a day at the beach.
To beat the heat, I’ve been drinking an absurd amounts of coconut water. With how much i’m outdoors, it’s great to have a refreshing drink with a little natural sugar in it. If you haven’t already, try the coconut water with chunks of young coconut in it- you’ll be hooked! I’ve also been loving my blue flash lens Ray Bans and Kendra Scott Danielle Earrings in White Pearl as staple accessories.
To combat the humidity of summer days, I have turned to Urban Decay’s De-Slick Oil Control Spray to help my skin stay matte. The spray is perfect for setting your makeup on days that you aren’t going to be in the water but will be in the heat. I’ve also become newly OBSESSED with Anastasia’s Lip Gloss. While I absolutely despise lip glosses, this one isn’t sticky, doesn’t bleed, and stains your lips! It’s extremely pigmented and is perfect for keeping your lips looking fierce throughout a hot day. I’m wearing Neon Carnival– exclusively sold at Macy’s. I also bought Rio (pictured below) as the perfect shade of bright pink for the summer.
